I have been wearing high heels for many years and pretty much putting up with the pain along with having my foot look like a boat when I take them off . My toes are smashed together in a triangle like the bow of a boat and bent upward until I walk a few feet barefoot. A couple of years ago I discovered Vivian Lou Insoles which are shown in the picture below.
The clear gel pad going from the arch to just shy of the heel shifts you weight back from the ball of your foot to the heel more evenly distributing it.
Vivian Lou insoles help a great deal but the old ice trick makes the shoes even more comfortable. I wrote about this a couple of years ago on my other site www.chicladies.org but have recently made a discovery that makes it even better. I was getting ready to go to a Vanity Club outing in Atalanta and had two new pairs of pumps to wear.
I inserted the zip lock plastic bags with the corner deep into the toe of each shoe pushing it in with my finger making sure it was all the way in. Then I filled the bags about a third of the way full with water and put them in the freezer over night. I did this three times on one shoe and the other needed a fourth time putting them on in between to check the fit. When the water froze each night it expanded gently stretching the shoe a little each time. The shoes pictured above are satin but the ones I did multiple times were black kid and black patent leather.
I travel every month to various places and most of the time bring Ms. Micki with me along with everything that she needs to be girly. Staying in hotels has its advantages like room and maid service but some drawbacks also. Typically I leave the room in the morning as Duke doing guy stuff returning around 3:00pm to become Micki. When I leave the room at around 6:00pm with my heels clicking down the hall hair and makeup perfect I definitely look different. It used to bother me a great deal that the maids would see my wig stands on the dresser which, is the only hint that Duke and Micki are sharing a room. I was worried they might tell other staff and snicker about a crossdresser in the room when they saw me as Duke but not so much any more.
I discovered these hangers on Amazon and tried them out on my last trip.
They go together quickly and disassemble quickly storing flat for shipping.
Maids don’t go into closets or open drawers so the wigs are out of site hanging in the closet. Wives traveling with crossdressers will appreciate the privacy also.
If you are like me there have been many disappointing shopping excursions where you have discovered an awesome bracelet only to find that it only comes in size 7 1/2 inch and won’t fit your 8 to 8 1/2 inch wrist. It got me to thinking how I could make bracelets that would fit a crossdressers wrist which is not exactly easy. Through that process it occurred to me that it might be easier to just buy a 7 1/2 bracelet and extend it. I knew Michael’s crafts stores could probably fix me up and the did with some rings and lobster claws did the trick.
The above bracelet was purchased on sale from Macy’s and I added a ring and lobster claw to make it fit.
You can also buy a bargain necklace and cut it into smaller pieces making two bracelets.
These links were almost 1/8th inch so I had to break out the bolt cutters to split them
The necklace yielded two 8 1/2 inch bracelets after adding the rings and lobster claws. In some cases you can just clip an additional lobster claw to the existing one to get the length you need.
