This weekend will be a milestone for the members of CHIC who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this Saturday night. Past and present members will be attending and catching up on everyone’s lives although some members are no longer with us. The ones that have passed on will be toasted none the less as they are remembered with smiles as some were pretty colorful. Others that left for personal reasons will rejoin their old friends and celebrate.
I know personally I have much to celebrate because finding CHIC over 30 years ago was a tremendous boost for my crossdressing. I knew of a few clubs for crossdressers but they were located out of state so were not of value to me. This was pre-internet so communication was harder starting at the adult book store then using U.S. Mail to communicate. The desire to meet like minded crossdressers was always there but hard to achieve.
It seems that clubs for crossdressers are not of value to the younger crossdressers which is sad. There are many advantages to belonging to a club beyond just dressing in women’s clothes. Those who have been at it longer share valuable techniques and time saving tricks. A little dialog between old and young can also head off harmful mistakes based on experience. Life long friendships away from crossdressing are formed in some cases. I know about half the members have traveled on non dressing vacations together with wives.
In the days before COVID we had what I called “The Pink Tee Foursome” for golf on Sunday after the Saturday night CHIC meeting. It was a great life balance with ultra lady like high heels Saturday night and male golf attire on Sunday. At times there would only be three CHIC golfers and they put a single with our group. When one of us hit a bad shot the others would make a comment like. If you keep hitting like that you should wear a dress with a chuckle. Truly an inside joke for us gurlz and the single golfer never caught on which is what made it fun.
Three of the former members that will be there on Saturday left the club when they decided a transgendered lifestyle was a better fit for them. They moved on but kept in touch with a few CHIC members so I will be interested in hearing what they have been up to. One special guest that will be attending is a long time friend of the club. She is a college professor that CHIC members have spoken at her human sexuality classes for a great many years. It is especially touching that she changed her major in college after hearing one of our members speak at her class when she was a student. She has attended many CHIC events over the years and is considered a good friend by many.
It going to be a fun event with many laughs and great stories. CHIC is the only club I am aware of that has consistently operated for 50 years which is no small accomplishment.

Congratulations on your accomplishment Miss Micki…
Micki- Kudos to this great group. You’re right, 50 years in business for ANY group is a major milestone and something to be proud of. Were I not in South Carolina I’d be applying for membership today.
Thanks Grace,
I’m glad you like it.
Micki
Congratulations! Well done!
