I always try to make Saturday night the big event of each of my crossdressing adventures and this trip was no different. When I went out for lunch earlier on Saturday I stumbled on the place I had reserved for dinner that night which was only a block away from my hotel. I was not aware of that when I reserved the hotel so the option of walking to dinner popped into my head. Fortunately I always pack my roll up ballet slippers for situations like this and other emergency’s.

It was a slight downhill grade on a busy street so I felt confident in the walk and secure with so many people around. I even toyed with the idea of doing it in heels but thought it unwise to attract any more attention than I was already. It was mostly a younger crowd so tennis shoes, denim, and hoodies were the norm not large ladies in dresses and heels. I strolled through the hotel lobby on my way to dinner stopping just outside the door to switch from heels to the slippers. The walk went well and I even got a smart girl comment from a woman that noticed me switching back to heels near the restaurant.

I never know what to expect when going to a new place which is one reason that I typically do it solo so if it goes badly I don’t ruin someone’s big night out. That has never happened but I still like to know the layout and what to expect before getting others involved which, also helps me enjoy the evening more. The Capital Grille was one of the best places that I have been to from the moment I walked through the door. I’m pretty sure I caught them off guard but they came around quickly once I gave them my name and reservation time. There were three of them and they were very complimentary of my new nails and lipstick shade that were first time out for me. They had a quick discussion then guided me to a great window table where I could see everyone crossing the main street I just walked down. I could also see everyone that was entering the restaurant but too bad about the tennies and denim, enough already!
My Cosmopolitan was superb, the service outstanding, and the environment excellent. The only bummer of the night was my being stupid and ordering one of the chefs recommendations. I am a picky eater and should have asked instead of assuming what all that neat French sounding crap was. My New York Strip looked like it was coated in sand and the seasoning so spicy I could not taste the meat. It was may bad so I suffered through half of it then started doing surgery carving off the edges to get rid of the coating on the other half. Next time its back to good old char broil with a little seasoning and a baked tater and leave the French stuff for the classy people. Thank God my Cosmo washed the taste out of my mouth.

I asked the hostess to take a couple of pictures of me after dinner and she was very enthusiastic about it as young folks always seem to be. After she took this one she even went over to the bar behind me and secured me a seat, then found a better one with a little more room and took me there.
I had a great experience at The Capital Grille and will definitely come back with friends when in town.
