Today I was surfing through Crossdresser Heaven and found a post from a member saying she was hoping to get out to Asia SF before it closes. I have many cherished crossdresser memories from Asia SF so the news grabbed me and I had to investigate further.

Sadly it did not take long for me to confirm it in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper. Asia SF will be closing March 31st falling victim to the terrible local economy like many other great places.
Many of my crossdresser memories of interacting with civilian people were at Asia SF because most all of the patrons were tourists or attending conventions. It broke down a lot of barriers because one thing that we all had in common was we were watching a DRAG show together. We were also eating dinner together while watching the show so everyone was in a great mood.

Asia SF was not like other places with DRAG shows because they served great Asian food which was done by the performers themselves. It got everyone into the whole scene right away when your food is delivered by another server because yours just got up on stage to perform. Asia SF also advertised in the in room hotel magazines so they had to be a classy establishment.

Some of my best crossdresser memories were having fun with groups of young women attending bachelorette parties. Women are curious in general but in this environment they felt more courageous and asked many questions and were typically surprised to find we were all married heterosexual crossdressers. They all had a good time and left with a better understanding of us along with knowing the difference between a DRAG Queen and a crossdresser.

Other crossdresser memories included the time we met some people from a movie company in Australia who had just completed filming. We were in the downstairs bar wait for our reservation to be called. They were having a wrap party before they left for home and were having so much fun with us followed us upstairs when we went to dinner.
Asia SF was the kind of place where you could easily run into a successful business executive or a politician because it was a very respectable establishment with no issues with law enforcement. Even the current Mayor London Breed has been a customer.
Someday somebody might get the idea to have a dinner house with DRAG performers and if so they would be smart to copy Asia SF’s winning formula.
