Most crossdressers I think will agree that it is a lonely journey especially the older ones who came through the dark ages in the closet during the last century. Anything related to a crossdresser network let alone social media was beyond anyone’s imagination. You were the one and only because people just did not talk of such things as men impersonating women. You did what you did in secret especially if you were previously caught in the act by someone. Fast forward to today and things are far different with many opportunities to gather with like minded individuals.
YOUR PERSONAL CROSSDRESSER NETWORK
With the dark lonely days behind us crossdressers are connecting via social media for the most part which replaced the outdated mailing letters method. It has definitely been a huge boost for crossdressers making connections with others in general but complicated by options. It seems like Facebook is losing its allure for younger crossdressers and they are congregating elsewhere on competing platforms. For those without a solid crossdresser network things could get lonely again.
It’s really up to the individual crossdresser to figure out what your needs are but, personal crossdresser networks can be very rewarding. My network is of the face to face variety as I don’t have much time for online chat conversations. I enjoy the personal interaction with like minded people where the conversation can evolve from one topic to another spontaneously. Without ever meeting someone in person you never know if their profile picture is really them. For all you know they may braid their nose hair and have chest hair like a Grizzly bear.
My crossdresser network has grown over the years and I look forward to seeing them in person at events like TG Rocktober and DIVA Las Vegas. The opt in or out of the planned activities allows for side adventures and conversations. My network has also grown as a result of introductions at events like these either formal or by chance encounters. This last October at TG Rocktober I organized two small dinner outing where I made the introductions to everyone.
The groups at DIVA Las Vegas a couple of years back were larger but a lot of fun. I was being introduced at these outings because I had never met some of them. I have been out with 5 of the 8 from the Oscar’s group on the left below. The Ruth’s Chris group on the left we had 24 people I think and I have seen about 8 of them socially afterward.
This year my crossdresser network has provided a new opportunity and I am honored to be invited to the Rose City “T” Girl clubs Christmas Party in Portland Oregon. I attended an event with them last February which was a fun adventure so I am looking forward to this outing also. I plan to wear a formal gown for Saturday night so will be doing fit checks this week so see what still fits after Thanksgiving. Then again there are some great prices on formals at Black Friday sales so who knows?
As you can tell from the pictures above I have a fetish for shoe jewelry which I feel are an elegant touch for any formal ensemble.
Many of the ladies in my crossdresser network are married and the wives share our love of formal gowns and events. We gathered last May in Long Beach for another La Bella event where four crossdressing clubs were represented. CHIC from Long Beach, Rose City “T” Girls from Portland, Desert Flowers from Phoenix and Vanity Club world wide.
I’m looking forward to seeing my crossdresser network friends again and maybe adding some new ones too!
