It has often been said that every crossdresser that goes out in public dressed as a woman is an ambassador representing our community. I completely agree and have enjoyed many wonderful conversations over the years with people I have met while dressed. The members of my crossdressing club CHIC called it outreach which we did individually and with a formal speakers bureau also. The speakers bureau spoke with colleges, universities, along with other city, county, state, and federal agencies. Each of us were crossdressing ambassadors and the first contact many people had with anyone from the crossdressing world.
Those of us with crossdressing websites provide information to crossdressers and the general public as well for educational purposes. We are sort of internet crossdressing ambassadors reaching a great many people from all over the world. It is interesting to look at my website stats and see where people viewing it are coming from which is truly an international group.
MY NEW CROSSDRESSING AMBASSADOR ADVENTURE
About four years ago I started a different crossdressing ambassador adventure that went beyond answering questions and actually consulting for a musical production being written by a production company from the New York. While it started with just a few basic questions it eventually grew to a consulting role as the questions became more in depth. It is rewarding to know that my information led to some changes in the production Over the years my contact with them ran in spurts as they searched for backers to take the production to a theater.

Well, the waiting is over because book writer and one of the three creators of the musical Welcome To The Big Dipper Catherine Filloux reached out to me last week with an invitation to the grand opening November 26th. The composer and lyricist is Jimmy Roberts and the co-book writer and additional lyric writer is John Daggett. The musical starts OFF BROADWAY November 21st and runs through December 29th at the York Theater on Lexington Avenue in New York City.
They are currently in rehearsal mode so it’s crunch time with just 3 weeks to go until it opens. I had a couple of conversations with them today and agreed to more if needed with the director DeMone Seraphin and cast. It’s kind of cool being part of something like this and being part of the TEAM wasn’t even on my bucket list.
Unfortunately, the Thanksgiving Holiday prevents me from attending the performance, but I am hopeful that my contributions will lead to a positive image of crossdressers with the mainstream public. Hopefully the production will achieve the same level of success that La Cage aux Folles has over the years.
Now is your chance to be a crossdressing ambassador and go see the musical, tickets are available by clicking on the logo below.
