Like many other crossdressers I cruise through different websites like Crossdresser Heaven and TG Forum along with a few blogs like Stana’s Femulate.org and kandis-land.com keeping up on what is happening in our world. Reading what others write about what they are doing and the latest news from their areas make me appreciate my crossdressing sisterhood all the more. I have written about crossdresser clubs in previous posts and their decline over the years so I won’t repeat myself here. It really strikes me though when reading how lonely so many peoples stories are with crossdressers reaching out to others for companionship online. Some are just beginning to explore while others have given up purging for the last time and now fully embracing their crossdressing. A common thread running through each of them is the loneliness they all share. Some of the lucky ones have progressed to a point where they have thrown caution to the wind and attended their first crossdressing or more accurately Transgender event. The most recent one was Keystone which was held last month in Harrisburg Pennsylvania with around 700 attending.

I am not familiar enough with Keystone to say it is a crossdressing sisterhood having never attended but it is definitely a step in that direction from what I am told by attendees. The Vanity Club of which I am a member (VC632) is very much involved in the event with some members directly participating with the planning and administration of the event. Other members put on seminars and host welcoming parties for new attendees.
All the stories that people tell about their adventures at places like Keystone bring back fond memories of the events I attended years ago like the Texas “T” Party in San Antonia/ Dallas, California Dreaming in San Francisco, Southern Comfort in Atlanta, and the Colorado Gold Rush in Denver. It is accurate to say that I have been where they are today but years ago. I only attend DIVA Las Vegas and TG Rocktober these days because they are close by and I am very familiar and comfortable with Las Vegas where both are held.
CROSSDRESSING SISTERHOOD
As a result of my memberships in CHIC and the Vanity Club I have become part of a crossdressing sisterhood that allows me to connect with people where ever I go. On two of my trips to Las Vegas this year I reached out to Michelle(VC517) a Vanity Club sister pictured with me below. Each time we had a great dinner with wonderful conversation followed by drinks and entertainment in the lounge.

The trip I did earlier this year I rendezvoused with my BFF Ashley for shopping, dinners, along with several shows in Las Vegas staying at the Bellagio for my first time. Ashley has been a great friend for over 30 years who I met at the Texas “T” Party in the early 1990’s. She is the one who told me about and sponsored me as an applicant to CHIC which I joined.

Tonya(VC709) is another member of my crossdressing sisterhood who I originally met through our membership in CHIC but she is also a Vanity Club member. I have reached out to Tonia and lovely wife Nell on several occasions to meet for shows and dinners in Las Vegas and other cities. The picture below Nell took of us at the Rosina Cocktail Lounge in the Palazzo resort. We had just come from dinner and the Penn & Teller show.

One advantage of being part of a crossdressing sisterhood is that if it is based on being a member of a club there is a great security component that goes along with it. For instance, last week I noticed a post on the Vanity Club website from a member who is planning on going to Las Vegas. She was asking if any other Vanity Club sisters are going to be in town while she is there. Two of us responded that we will so possibly between now and then she will reach out and we can get together for a drink. The crossdresser sisterhood advantage here is that while I have never met this person before I know she has been vetted by the Vanity Club during the membership process. I am comfortable with that process and the one that CHIC uses also.
I think back on all of the business trips I took and how great it would have been to get together with a sister I could trust for an evening out. Especially in an unfamiliar town it would be a treat to follow someone else’s lead avoiding bad places and people.
If the crossdressing sisterhood concept is appealing to you the first step can be to just click on the Keystone logo above that will take you to their website where you can start your journey. Every year crossdressers take that first nervous step dressed as a woman with their knees shaking and find a welcoming group of supportive ladies to encourage them. You don’t need to ever leave the confines of the hotel if you don’t want to. Attendees are from all over the U.S. and many from other counties also. Your new best friend and crossdressing sisterhood member might just be at your first public outing.
