The Sorrento Hotel is a real gem and is located on a Seattle hill originally over looking Elliot Bay on the Puget Sound. Unfortunately modern day buildings have obscured all but a sliver of that view today.

Built in 1909 and renovated through the years the owners have preserved that original elegance with rich wood interiors. Occasionally I take advantage of the last minute upgrades the hotels offer me. The day before I checked into the Hotel Sorrento I received an e-mail from them offering me the King Suite for just $20.00 more per night. I was only staying 3 nights so I figured why not get a more comfortable room. In the past I have heard from readers that they go to another city away from home to crossdress for security reasons. In some cases the wife will go along if its far enough away. The Sorrento would I think be a good crossdressing destination for a beginner because they could just stay at the hotel of venture out if they wish. I thought I would share some of the pictures I took of the room because it was very comfortable.
A CROSSDRESSING DESTINATION
I will start with the front of the hotel and take you to the room. I think some crossdressers might be interested in the hotel for a getaway or group event. You can click on the images to get a larger view.

I was amused that for some reason they change the carpet in the elevator everyday to show the correct day.

Out of the elevator and down the immaculately maintained vintage hall.

The 1st image is what you see when entering my suite with the bar on the right. the 2nd is looking west toward the windows with the bar now on your left and the 3rd image is 180 degrees looking east directly at the bar.

The master bedroom was very spacious just off the west end of the suite.

The bathroom was very large but as typical of vintage hotels lacked counter space.

The hotel and staff are very nice and totally accepting so I would recommend it for a crossdressing destination. I was at a disadvantage of staying during the week so I have no idea if they are busy on weekends. They do have DRAG Trivia on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Fireside Room of the hotel which is why I originally made it my crossdressing destination but had to reschedule that trip. The Sorrento is located on the western edge of Seattle on the edge of the Capitol Hill area which is where the Gay clubs are.
The only negative I found at the Sorrento was the room was dark with dark gray walls and dark blue carpets. The bathroom was well lit so makeup was not an issue thankfully I always carry a flashlight with me to check for things I drop. Even so I would recommend the Sorrento for a crossdressing destination
The public areas of the hotel are vintage and beautiful with craftsmanship not seen in the newer hotels you see today.

The woodwork details in the main lobby are beautiful and were crafted by hand in 1909 before the era when power tools were invented.

The bar and lounge area of the Fireside room where dinner is served.

I am told the hotel is haunted but they say that about every old place I go to but then again maybe I was the only live person there that week!
