If it hasn’t already happened there will come a time where you need to confront the ladies room crossdressing bathroom issue or, using the ladies room while dressed in fem attire problem. Regardless of what you have heard about acceptance the situation I believe is so fluid that it can literally change by the minute. Ten years ago I felt comfortable using the women’s bathroom when absolutely necessary which I define as getting caught in a situation I could not plan for. Like the cab driver does not show up or you are forced to stay away from your base longer than the plan called for.

All of my outings are planned in detail well in advance so they can be changed smoothly if needed. I always have and always will avoid using the public women’s bathroom when out as Miss Micki for the simple reason I don’t like to. Bathrooms are not my favorite places anyway but ladies room crossdressing ranks at the bottom of the list for me and the reason is simple. They don’t want me there so there is negative energy from the beginning and I don’t blame them its the way so many were raised. I try to respect their feeling and plan my day so we never meet that way which is not that hard to do.
I try to load up on liquids during the morning hours to maintain hydration then cut it off at lunch. When I getting ready I go to the bathroom at the slightest inkling and always several times before I put on my nails or go out the door for the night. I am not a beer drinker which makes things easier to manage and it has served me well for a long time.
LADIES ROOM CROSSDRESSING CHANGES

So what are the changes to ladies room crossdressing? Publicity which is coming from everywhere online, cable, and mainstream TV as part of the TRANS Everything in the news today. Recently I have been hearing more and more references to men using the ladies room or ladies room crossdressing which I have taken to heart because none of the stories are positive. No examples just talk about how it should not be tolerated and how unnerving it is for females of all ages. My fear is that now some women will be paying more attention and raise a fuss if the encounter crossdressers in the ladies room.
I don’t plan to change my getting ready process but will be hyper conscious when I am out and maybe plan my night so I can schedule a bathroom break into it. I recommend that all crossdressers do the the same and if you do find yourself needing to do some ladies room crossdressing follow the advice so many have given on the internet before. Get in and out quickly, don’t go in with a group. don’t talk or answer the phone. Do not take any pictures of anything EVER! If you are unlucky and a woman complains about you being there taking pictures will lead to a great many uncomfortable questions. Imagine yourself standing before a judge in a courtroom trying to explain exactly what you found worthy of photographing in the women’s bathroom.

Regardless of where you put yourself in the Trans spectrum it would be wise to re examine your ladies room crossdressing plan. My recommendation is to plan ahead as if you needed a bathroom every couple of hours. Look for bathrooms that are unisex and stay away from mall bathrooms. Gay or LGBTQ businesses you can look up online and consider buying something in order to use the facilities. In places like Las Vegas try to use the bathrooms next to the showrooms if there is not an event going on. Night time could be a problem but during the day they are typically open and not used very often. The same goes for convention rooms but again it depends on if anything is going on.
The map on your phone should show you public bathroom locations and you can always just call any business and ask their bathroom policy. If you did not plan ahead are in a restaurant you can ask your server where the ladies room is which hopefully she tells you that is a semi form of authorization. That said, the goal is not to convince a judge that you had not ill intentions its to never be standing in front of one.

I recall the fear and trepidation I had the first time I used a women’s bathroom, but I can say I don’t recall ever having a problem using one. The good thing is since virtually all women’s bathrooms have stalls, there is privacy. My interactions when washing my hands have all been favorable. I discovered if you smile a lot and nod your head instead of speaking it goes a long way! I especially love using the women’s bathrooms at truck stops when I am traveling since I usually look better than most CIS women there! 🙂
Are you sure they are CIS women? Been to a few truck stops in my day and seen some interesting characters.
You described the way that I felt the first time i used the ladies room. I was at a outdoor shopping center and was dressed in a mini skirt and high heels. It was quite warm and I had drank two bottles of water I had to pee and I was to far away from home, so I decided to go to the ladies room located in the food court. I was walking down a long hallway that led to the ladies room and my heart was racing and I was very nervous about doing it.
At the entrance to the ladies room, I was suprised to see that the door was open and I was able to walk in Like you said, all there was stalls, there was two rows of stalls and I found a vacant stall and went in and closed and locked the door. Complete privacy and my anxiety was not as bad
I did what I needed to do and left the stall after flushing the toilet. I went to the sinks where I washed my hands and touched up my makeup, then walked out and went back to shopping
After that I didn’t have any anxiety about using the ladies room and do whenever I need to
I think you re living in the past.Your suggested precautions are good but you are creating a lot of fear in your readers. There is nothing illegal about using the women’s room
Hi Emily,
Thank you for your response.
Are you in a position to state unequivocally that crossdressers using the women’s bathroom is perfectly legal in all 50 states? If you can submit verifiable documentation to that effect I will gladly amend my post accordingly.

I agree on finding a unisex bathroom. My favorite Nordstrom has one as do other places these days.
Otherwise, I haven’t had an issue. I stood in line at a Bruce Springsteen concert in North Carolina and didn’t have an issue. Been to the Fox Theater twice in May and the only reaction was “love the dress.”
I occasionally go out with GG friends, and they often use the restroom with me when we are out. I ask them NOT to talk to me while we are in there, but sometimes they forget….
Hi Dee,
Sounds like you are doing it right.
Best,
Micki
I use an app on my phone called Refuge Restroom. It will show you restrooms in your area that are “gender” friendly.
Thanks Diana,
Great resource.
