Saturday night the 20th of December this year will be one to remember for the folks in and around the Embassy Suites downtown. It’s not often that formal gowns are flowing through the lobby and their on premises restaurant Mother’s I am sure that was not the case when the hotel was first built though because it is so elegant like many built in that early 1920’s era.

The crowd at Mother’s was a mix of local and hotel guests and mostly all dressed casually so we made a grand entrance. I think here were only 10 of us in gowns but we were definitely the show for that night. I saw one woman with her children utter something like “What the” and then stare with her mouth agape. The hostess paraded us through most of the restaurant so everyone knew that we were there straining to get a look.
I was at the hotel for 3 nights so provided amusement every night like Friday night below when I met with three of the Rose City ladies for dinner at Seratto a local Italian restaurant. Most people were dressed for the rain and many looked like they were going hiking so dresses and heels really stood out.

I always enjoy my trips to Portland I just wish they did not role the sidewalks up at 9PM. Other than a dive bar there is very little open past 10 PM so your all dressed up with literally nowhere to go.
Merry Christmas to all!
