I gave up on passing or blending years ago so it is not a consideration when I crossdress in public. That does not mean that my goal is to be a standout crossdresser just one doing my own thing without worrying about being noticed. That was a good thing this week because my trip to Las Vegas was during a heat wave from 107 to 110 degrees the entire time I was there. I can say with certainty that I was the only one wearing a dress, heels, and nylons making me a standout crossdresser for sure. Most everyone was wearing tank tops, shorts, and rubber thongs 24/7 so to say i stood out is an understatement.
The heat made me rethink my normal routine like shopping while dressed where I did a benefit analysis before I left for the mall. Given the summer season it wasn’t likely I was going to find the clothes that I like but you never know sometimes there are some good deals. I decided to go to the mall in Duke mode to do a recon instead of going to all the trouble of getting dressed instead of coming back empty handed. My plan was if the shopping looked promising I would come back the next day dressed and try on the clothes. In that kind of heat with padding and shapewear I would be soaking wet if I spent 5 minutes outside. Damn I am smart because shopping turned out to be a bust other than a couple of pieces of jewelry.
Night time is my main goal so I wasn’t too disappointed with the shopping but this trip was challenging for night time as well but nothing to do with the heat. It is somewhere between bad luck and random weirdness or half N half I guess. The second night I went to one of my favorite places the Bistecca Steak House at the Tuscany hotel which was very nice. The staff there is very welcoming and we chat quite a bit when I am there and this trip they made a point of introducing me to the new manger there. I had a great dinner the headed across the lobby to the Piazza Lounge to listen to the live entertainment. When I got there the lounge was pretty crowded and band was on break. I noticed only one cocktail server and a large group standing at the bar ordering drinks. I have been there before in a crowd like this and it took forever to get a drink so I decided to just go back to my hotel and the Bound Bar for some standout crossdresser civilian encounters.

I called UBER and got a car within a few minutes which is where the evening went south. First off the driver did not turn left and drive the two blocks to the hotel but continued straight down the road. I told him I think he missed the turn on Flamingo Rd. and he told me the GPS was directing him to take another route. We went out of the way a couple of blocks then turned into bumper to bumper traffic for a couple of blocks the turned left into bumper to bumper traffic. All we did was approach the source of the congestion from further away which was road construction on Tropicana. I finally reached the hotel after 30 minutes in the car for normally a 5 minute trip. In retrospect I should have stayed at the Piazza Lounge because the Bounder Bar closed early. I didn’t even get a picture of me in a new dress Ce Este La Vie!
STANDOUT CROSSDRESSER
My last night I went to another favorite place called Ferraro’s Italian restaurant not far from the hotel. I was most definitely a standout crossdresser because when I walked in the place was packed and it took me by surprise. The entrance was jammed full of people and the even had suitcases like you put in the overhead on the plane with them. There was about ten of them behind the hostess station which was something I had never seen before. I found out from my server Michael that there was a convention that week up the street and everyone had discovered Ferraro’s. I had to wait in the entrance with everyone else for about 10 minutes before they seated me. You can see from the picture below I was a standout crossdresser.

There were a number of ladies wearing dresses at the restaurant but none as dressy as mine so I was definitely a standout crossdresser this evening. As I was walking to my table I passed 3 middle aged women making eye contact and smiling back at them. Throughout the evening I noticed them looking at me with one in particular taking interest. I say that because several times when I looked up she was turned around in her chair looking directly at me. I know it was me she was interested in because she immediately turned back around when I looked up and there was nothing but a wall behind me.
Things changed when my Tiramisu arrived all three wanted to know what it was and I responded in my male voice of course. When it was time for me to leave and I walked past them noticing that they had ordered some Tiramisu for themselves with some Italian cookies. All three looked up as I stopped briefly asking if they enjoyed it being that they had stopped eating. They said it was great they were just taking a break and I responded that they had to finish because it was bad luck in Italy if you don’t. Not true but sounded good and the assured me they would. The one who kept turning around complimented me on my dress which was a great way to leave.
Deja vu for the rest of the evening as my UBER driver followed the direct route down Flamingo Rd. to the hotel in the same traffic jam as the previous night only from a different angle. The Bounder Bar was again closed only this time for a private party which was a bummer.
Sometimes trips don’t work out exactly as you plan them and adjustments are needed but this trip seemed to have more obstacles than most. I will be back at it in the fall when things cool down.

To be honest, you don’t look like a cross-dresser. You look like a lady.
Thanks Nicole, that is my goal.
