The party started at 9 PM when the doors to the Troy Bar opened for business and the ladies of TGR sashayed onto the balcony. I made a quick trip to the ladies room to get it out of the way before the crowd arrived. When I got to the balcony entrance I showed security my wristband and they motioned me in. The music across the street was beating away providing the party vibe for the night.

I headed for the bar where the other TGR ladies were already lining up.

The prime seats went quickly but fortunately people moved around to chat so spots kept opening up. I think I moved at least four times starting at the front rail and finally moving to the back of the bar.

The ladies there were from all across the Untied Sates and handful from Canada also. The only organized group attending that I am aware was is the Vanity Club who had quite a few members attending. The photo above left is of Heidi Phox (VC 541) and myself (VC 632). The pic on the right is of myself Jane Holst (center) (VC 640) and Carrie who is not a member. Three of the 4 administrators of TG Rocktober are Vanity Club members though the event is not officially connected to the Vanity Club.
I mentioned in previous posts that this was my second time attending TG Rocktober and I have to say it is a well organized event. I am sure there were problems that surfaced during the event but I was not aware of any which is key. Because of the construction going on for the Las Vegas Grand Prix traffic congestion is a real headache but the TGR team had planned for that so there was no impact.
I enjoyed this TGR more than the previous one mainly because I utilized the Vanity Club Network to make contacts ahead of time. The two nights when we were on our own for dinner I made reservations and used the VC network to secure companions. Friday night’s dinner with Lauren and Mallory (VC 458) who I never had spoken to or laid eyes on previously went great. Saturday night’s dinner was a fun evening with new friends both Vanity Club members that I arranged through the club. I had exchanged e-mails with Jane (VC 640) but we had never socialized and Christina (VC 650) I had never had any contact with. My TGR 2024 approach worked very well and really made the difference between it and the previous one TGR 2023.
Social clubs crossdressing or otherwise have been on the decline for decades and it is definitely a generational thing with younger folks going other directions. They don’t see the value in joining and or don’t like the structure. To each his own but, the success of my TGR 24 adventure is because I was able to connect with quality people previously screened by the Vanity Club through their membership process. Having been through the Vanity Club vetting myself I was confident that the people responding to my inquiry would be good companions and I was not disappointed.
