This adventure takes me back to Las Vegas where I am working on a couple of projects the first of which is taking pictures to update the makeup page on my site. The second is going back to the Cromwell hotel where I have enjoyed numerous encounters with civilians. Mostly because I get to enlighten them about crossdressing in general and especially the transvestite crossdresser phenomenon.

All the news nowadays is on transgender this, that, and the other lumping kids surgeries with any other story involving male in women’s clothing. Those of us that identify in the transvestite crossdresser category are being swallowed up by it so people are genuinely interested in hearing the difference.
After dinner at Giada’s above I wandered down to the Bound Cocktail bar at the Cromwell Hotel to see if I could find a good conversation. It was pretty empty when I arrived but after a few minutes a mother daughter team asked if the seats next to me were available then sat down. We had a couple small comments back and forth but mostly they conversed between themselves.

While I was speaking with the mother daughter team a young woman came in alone and sat on my right side and ordered a drink. I turned to her an apologized for having my back to her while conversing with the other ladies. We had an enjoyable conversation on the transvestite crossdresser subject along with a multitude of topics with the exception of religion and politics. I felt sorry for her because she was lamenting her tattoos which covered both of her arms and she regretted getting them. She said she was a beauty school dropout and did not know what career path to take going forward. My advice was to find something that she was very passionate about and pursue something in that area now that beauty school was out. I felt sorry for her because she was visiting Las Vegas for the first time with two other young ladies. She and one friend were 23 but the other was only 20 so could not drink or go into the bars. She was up in the room caring for the other 23 year old friend who was too drunk to go out. My new friend wanted to see Las Vegas but was leaving the next day and was not sure where to go. I suggested going to Caesar’s Palace and walking around it will give her an idea of what Vegas had to offer.
TRANSVESTITE CROSSDRESSER
My young friend departed to try her luck at Roulette and I wished her luck. History repeated itself when another woman sat down where the mother daughter originally where sitting on my right . She was watching some game show on the big TV above and turned to me asking if I was watching. I said I was trying to figure out whet they were doing with the game. This woman was late 40’s probably and she chose the seat next to me when there were 4 or 5 others available to her left. It has been my experience that she most likely had some curiosity and would be open to a conversation which she initiated. What followed was a casual Q&A period where I explained my version of the transvestite crossdresser phenomena versus transgender. I really enjoy this type of conversation because I feel based on her follow up questions that she is genuinely interested and getting something out of it all.
The conversations are not limited to transvestite crossdresser topics but I have to be careful not to out myself be getting into too much detail. General information about the industry I worked in and projects I worked on allow for some interesting discussions. That said, the preferred topic for both of us is me and the way I am dressed along with why.

I think the 3 areas that get the biggest reaction is that 1st I am married along with how long and have great grandkids. 2nd I have no plans to transition and perfectly happy doing my guy stuff most of the time. 3rd the occupations of the transvestite crossdresser people I have known over the years such as airline captain, military officers, deputy district attorneys, doctors. I always give them something to take with them when they leave which is when I tell them in all sincerity that I AM NOT THE FIRST TRANSVESTITE CROSSDRESSER they have met.
Comedians say to always leave them laughing and I always leave them thinking. Who do I know that is a transvestite crossdresser? Sorry ladies you will most likely never figure it out.
The truly rewarding part of the night was when the mother daughter team made special effort to say goodnight to me along with another woman who had joined them. They did not have to do that but wanted to which to me represents a small bit of acceptance which means more to me than passing.

I bet you brought up the crossdresser topic. If so whY? Prefer to just wing it as a woman
Emily,
It’s in the second paragraph here.

Micki… Great article. It is good to “clear the air” with those who are unfamiliar with crossdressing. We are not what most folks “imagine” us to be. Thank you, Staci…
Staci,
You’re welcome!

Micki,
Ditto for me. Thank you for “clearing the air” about crossdressing to those who confuse us with all negative versions of men in women’s clothing. We need such positive imaging, so again, thank you!
