I have found that mature crossdresser’s tend to enjoy the benefits of belonging to a crossdresser club. I have also found that clubs are not as plentiful as they once were. There are several reasons for this one of which is the grim reaper picking off members as we get older. Another is younger folks don’t socialize that way. Therefore the influx of new members isn’t sufficient to maintain the clubs roster. Instead of standing by watching local clubs vanish some are exploring more of a regional approach. Joint outings or meetings are being done to connect like minded crossdressser’s. It’s not a new approach as I can remember one that my club CHIC did in the early 1990’s. It was with a now defunct Orange County club nearby. That is the only time in 30 plus years that it happened which was unfortunate.
My guess is that tribal crossdressing is to blame possibly on several levels. Losing members to the other club resulting in the demise of one club is probably the biggest. Another is losing control of your club. Fast forward to 2025 and they are losing members anyway so that fear is off the table. Joint meetings make more sense now and provide a benefit most don’t think about which is expanded contacts. Instead of attending your first crossdressing event not knowing anyone and stumbling around by yourself contacts can be very helpful. Because you have attended a joint meeting you might find someone you already know is going.
I am personally involved in a joint meeting taking place next week which kind of came about in reverse. The individuals first met at the DIVA Las Vegas event in 2023. That is where I met my friend Paulette and we coordinated the Ruth’s Chris dinner on Wednesday night together.

It’s also where I met what I called Paulette’s Posse now known as the Desert Flowers club from Phoenix Arizona.

After DIVA Paulette and I kept in touch and got the idea for La Bella 2024. An invitation only formal dinner event for crossdressers. La Bella was a great success mainly because of participation by three clubs and their members. The majority came from the Rose City “T” Girls, Portland Oregon, Desert Flowers from Phoenix, and CHIC, Long Beach. The Vanity Club International was also represented with two members attending. I received a lot of positive comments on the quality of the people that attended.

As a result of the La Bella 2024 interaction between club members I am attending a joint meeting next week. The Rose City “T” Girls are hosting a joint weekend with members of CHIC in Portland Oregon. I had nothing to do the project which was a result of other peoples conversations. Crossdressers met other crossdressers they had something in common with and decided to meet again. The blending of members resulted in a conversation and what looks to be a fun event.
While the initial contact between Paulette and I started at DIVA, Portland is a club event. The majority of club members met at private event La Bella 2024 but are going beyond that. The nice thing is that everyone who attends the Portland event will have a new friend. The the next national event they attend or think of attending might not be a lonely one.
I’m not aware of the guest list for next weekend but, two members of the Vanity Club International are attending. Myself (VC 632) and Susan Miller (VC 571) are also members of CHIC and Rose City respectively. I think there will be more joint events going forward. Especially if clubs somehow let crossdresser’s attending conventions like Keystone know they will be there. I know when attendees are aware people they know will be attending its more fun for them.

Miss Micki, Tribal crossdressing, love it!! Being somewhat new to this “crossdressing” thing, I have yet to attend a gathering of crossdressers. I imagine it would be fun and educational. I enjoy seeing your blogs, thank you. Staci in SoCal…
Hi Micki!
It is not just CD groups dwindling dear. In my professional life I see a decline in interest for formal meetings, conferences, and support for local chapters of professional organizations. Same story though; younger/newer people are just not interested.
That said, I would encourage anyone to form their own groups or plan outings if there is a dearth of such events where you live. Larger CD conferences are fun, but so is planning to meet a few others at a local restaurant or mall, and gives a lot more out and about opportunities for those who only step out with others.

Thanks for the comment Norah I appreciate your insight. I think younger people don’t appreciate the value or deliverable gained from others. Many times I have found answers without asking questions but listening to other crossdressers. I many cases they were older but not always as several younger members showed me tricks to speed up my get ready time. That was part of my motivation in creating my website saving people money by avoiding my mistakes.
Hi Micki,
I totally agree with your post. I joined 3 Trans groups, 2 in the Vancouver area and I in Kelowna and have found that, as you indicated, it appears a great percentage of the girls are mature. None of the groups have any younger members. It is rather sad but my saving grace is having a couple of girl friends who get together for shopping and meeting up with some other friends for happy hour at our favourite pub every couple of weeks. Take care girl.

Hi Micki. I’m Jay. I’m in search of a mature cross dressers club in Long Island NY area. TY
Hello Jay,
I would suggest you join crossdresser heaven and if you are on facebook the Keystone group. There are many people from the northeast who attend Keystone.
Good luck,
Micki
