I have pretty much recovered from my La Bella adventure and my feet don’t hate me anymore nor do my calves. Four nights in heels takes a toll on everything below the knee but I am not complaining. Looking back on the event I am very pleased with how it went especially the crossdresser comradery I witnessed.
Below is the expression I get when I realize everything is going well and I don’t have to worry anymore!
La Bella was attended by crossdressers from 6 states and included 11 wives or S/O’s many of whom had never met before. The obvious common interest was crossdressing but as the night moved along I am sure other things came to the surface.
La Bella attendees came from 4 sources, CHIC and Rose City “T” Girls crossdressing clubs, Confident “U” group and Vanity Club International. I had met some at DIVA Las Vegas before and others I had known for sometime from other places. Between Paulette and I we felt all the attendees would blend well but I was surprised just how well.
CROSSDRESSER COMRADERY
Former New Jersey resident Claire found out Angela is a current resident which led to a conversation comparing experiences.
Wanda and Susan immediately reached out to some Rose City ladies they met some years before on a cruise Rose City put on.
I am sure that there were many more interactions I am not aware of because the group was table hopping like crazy. My own experience is probably typical of many crossdressers who interact in social events like DIVA Las Vegas or Keystone. I had some correspondence with Sheila on Crossdresser heaven so I knew a little about her. Her invitation to La Bella was from Paulette who has also corresponds with her. I noted that Sheila was staying over Sunday night in Long Beach so I extended an invitation to go to dinner that night if she was available. The first time I actually met her in person was Friday night when the out of towners met up at La Traviata.
We visited a little on Friday night and agreed on a time to meet for Sundays dinner but not where. Saturday night when I was speaking with Tiffany the events manager at L ‘Opera who was overseeing the La Bella dinner I mentioned Sheila and I were meeting for dinner the next night. She asked where we were going and invited us to come back to L ‘Opera upstairs in the main dinning room. Everything was new for Sheila in Long Beach so I thought she should see the main dinning room to get the whole experience. Sheila asked if she should wear slacks and a blouse to better blend in with the other customers or the glittery cocktail dress. I told her we won’t blend and it won’t matter so wear the dress which she did.
When we arrived they took us to a great window table and Tiffany came by several times and visited with us. Naturally the service and food were perfect with her around but honestly that is always the case with L ‘Opera. It turns out that Sheila and I have many things common from careers to hobbies and even places we have lived. The conversation was very enjoyable especially when Tiffany sat a while with us and travel in Europe became the topic then I found even more common interests.
Back at the hotel Sheila spotted one of the hotel employees she had dealt with during her stay and introduced me.
So that is how I ended my four night marathon in high heels with no regrets and lots of crossdresser comradery. If you think something like this would appeal to you crossdresser conferences and gatherings are a great place to start.
