When the Transvestite / Crossdresser decides to venture beyond the confines of their safe dressing place there are many things to consider. Regardless of whether your goal is passing or just enjoying seeing yourself as feminine illusion possible when presenting in public. The first step is going to be changing that male body into a more feminine shape by adding curves where needed. This is done by using breast, hip, along with butt pads if necessary.
My personal choice is to stick with proportions that compliment my size when selecting padding avoiding the temptation to go for huge breasts that attract unwanted attention. You are going to need a garment to hold the pads in place which is a crucial decision requiring some thought. The garment must be tight enough to hold the pads in place especially with gel pads or they will move. Don’t be distracted by your dress size and focus instead on your measurements while wearing the padding.

CROSSDRESSER MEASURING
If you are buying your first garment you can lay on your back putting the cloth tape measure behind, you and move the pads into the correct position to measure around them. Once you have your measurements selecting the right garment comes next and how much fluff you have is an important consideration.

Athletic types like runners can get away with less compression to hold everything in place while those of us with some fluff need to compress more than the pads. The runners have more to choose from and can easily get low compression body suits so I will move on to the bigger challenge for us Chunkey Chicks!

Over the years I have wanted a one-piece garment with hips and bust built in hoping to buy dresses without having to alter them but have not succeeded. The women’s torso measurements used by the manufacturers was too short so in order to get the breasts up where they should be I needed to tighten the shoulder straps to pull them up. That resulted in a tight crotch and shoulder pain caused by the straps digging into the muscles. It gets disputed but I was told the female torso in 2 inched smaller than a male, but their waste is definitely higher from my experience.
The closest I came was when my friend Espy Lopez of Classic Curves created one, but I did not care for the corset laces in the front which, I thought would be visible under clothing. I settled for pairing two garments using shapewear shorts for hips then a tank or long line bra on top overlapping the shorts. I have used various combinations of products placing the hip pads in by hand and adjusting them into position.

CROSSDRESSER SHAPEWEAR
My most recent quest has been with Shapellx that I wrote about in previous posts and have expanded the project to include the corset like top to fix the back bulge or muffin top the shorts create. It is the next best thing to a one-piece garment that molds everything into place. I ordered the XXL based on their instructions and found some man sizing is needed. By that I mean even though the size should fit well according to them I think it will be uncomfortable to wear.
The dimensions are correct, but they designed it for women who have a softer squishy belly which compresses easier. Men have a firmer stomach which is harder compress, so I ordered the XXXL to get a little more room.

I think the beginning Transvestite / Crossdressers will benefit from purchasing something like this that gives them a solid foundation to build their wardrobe on. Having the hip pads in the same place each time along with the breast forms gives a consistent female shape. The first step though is getting your measurements correct to start with so you what shapewear to buy followed by dresses that fit.
