It is that time of year again with ads everywhere showing glamorous holiday fashions for women. Holiday parties are on many people’s mind and what to wear is the big question. For those of us who have experienced crossdresser formal dressing there is no going back because we have passed the point of no return. I once asked my BFF Ashley what the big deal was and explained that I have never had the urge to do it. She told me that if I ever tried it, I would be hooked, and she was willing to loan me one of her gowns. I did not take her up on the offer but followed her advice and tried it at one of the conventions we attended in the 90’s. She was right, I was hooked and immediately a new dimension was added to me crossdressing experience.
I am so obsessed with crossdresser formal dressing that I wear one to the CHIC Club Christmas party every year. I never stop looking for formals and start shopping for next year’s dress before I have worn this year’s awesome creation. I think many crossdressers are put off by the expense of a formal gown after seeing the stars on television. The Academy Awards talk about what the stars are wearing along with the exorbitant costs which are in the thousands. Very few regular people spend that kind of money on a formal gown and crossdressers can do it fairly easy with a little imagination and research. The dress below is not a formal gown but a jacket I bought earlier in the year planning ahead. Once I had the jacket, using it is my theme I paired with a long black dress. This is not rocket science wives of young up and coming wannabe corporate executives figured this out a long time ago. If you don’t have the money to buy the impressive designer gown create your own showstopper one piece at a time. She does not have the luxury of just renting a tux like he can and look like another penguin on the beach!
For the 2021 Christmas party I found the jacket first then looked for a plain black dress so the jacket could take center stage. Plan B was to just by a long skirt and plain top from Macy’s which this time of year is well stocked. All of the items below are currently available at Macy’s online.
The great news is that the skirt will last you forever and can be paired with different jackets every year from now on. Nobody is going to ask if that is the same skirt you wore three years ago because if you do it right the jacket will take center stage. Macy’s and all the other major stores always have a selection of elegant jackets this time of year to pair with your skirt especially in the Thick Chic Section where I shop!

In these cases the dress is such that it is impossible to shorten without ruining it. Thus available to only a small percent of the customers and how many of those are looking for gowns?
