Many of us who consider themselves Transvestite /Crossdressers are lucky enough to have understanding wives who support us in our dressing activities. We are very lucky to have not only a far less stressful homelife but in many cases a very helping hand in navigating the ladies fashion world. For many years I laid out everything I was going to wear for each evening of my trips on the back of the couch. Shoes, skirt, jacket, purse, earrings, bracelet, rings, necklace and wig for her to critique with a wrinkled nose or a smile. We have been at it so long now I have been fully trained so don’t need the coaching anymore unless I have completely come up with something new. I trust her opinion without reservation because she always looked so great back in her working days especially at evening business events where I watched her get many compliments.
Crossdresser wife partners can also give you great advice on makeup provided they are user’s themselves and have learned what I call the WHY’s. That is why you do what you do when applying makeup as in, what is the goal. Over the years I have found that many women know very little about makeup because nobody ever taught them what it is all about. Now that they are older they are afraid to start and intimidated by the younger makeup artists at the mall, embarrassed to admit their lack of knowledge. Transvestite / Crossdressers with a crossdresser partner that is a non makeup person has a much steeper hill to climb because their wife does not know what to tell them. She will also push for the less is more approach which usually does not work because guys need more coverage than women.

While my Crossdresser wife partner started out teaching me about makeup over time as I explored and learned more things kind of turned around. I was fortunate enough to be befriended by a professional image consultant Donna Fujii that has a link on my page that taught me the WHY’s of makeup along with the goals accomplished with it. My Crossdresser wife partner regularly experiences new makeup products on her bathroom counter that I have bought for her to try along with my techniques for using them. There are quite a few Micki endorsed products in her makeup kit and she regularly askes me o get her more when she is running low.

When it comes to women’s clothing there is a tremendous amount to learn and regardless of the Crossdresser wife partners approach to makeup she has had to navigate the world of purchasing clothes. She can be of help here also but there are still some challenges because of the need for hip and breast pads. It took a while for us to figure out that we needed to fit the shoulders first then pad everything else out from there. I think most any woman on the planet can tell you what not to wear because it makes you look fat even when you are holding it in your hand. They have gone through the learning process as they evolved into womanhood which can be a shortcut for their crossdresser husbands.
Those of us Transvestite / Crossdressers that have been married for a long time have learned how to spot the trick questions and answer them correctly.
HER: Is that what you are going to wear tonight?
ME: I was thinking about it but wanted to get your opinion first.
HER: Your not thinking of wearing that are you?
ME: No, I decided against it but was curious what you thought anyway.
You reach a point where once she accepts your going out you are representing the team in a way and need to make a good impression even if people will never know your true identity. Its a matter of pride.
Thinking back over the years I have only seen a few examples of couples where the crossdresser is poorly dressed. In each case they were members of a club I belonged to and as time went on they changed their look to a more presentable image. Most of the time when I am at a convention or event where crossdressing couples are attending the crossdresser half is very tastefully dressed.
We are indeed lucky to have Crossdresser Wife Partners helping and looking out for us along with protecting our image.

everything you wrote is on target but don’t you agree that you are (a) very lucky and (b) in a distinct minority as far as spouses go????
Thanks for your comment Emily. I am definitely lucky but without knowing how many married crossdressers there are in the world I couldn’t really address the minority question.
Best,
Micki
I am also lucky to be married to a woman who understands my need to present as as a woman both at home and in public. Fortunately, I pass even though I am 75. I own about 12 wigs, all highly fashionable and 3 tone gray to match my age. Obviously, they are all styled differently. I mastered eyeliner, false eyelashes, contouring and so on years ago from a lot of YouTube watching. My wife is comfortable with me whether I’m in jeans and sandals at the mall or in 4″ stilettos and nylons at upscale restaurants. Admittedly, living in Las Vegas helps as no one really seems to care how you appear 🙂
Thanks for your comment Marli and you are one of the lucky ones for sure. I agree on your Las Vegas take at least as far as the high end establishments are concerned. I go there several times a year and have never had any issues any place I have been.

Micki
Thnx Micki for another well written post , as you know me quite well as well as my other half , it is a real blessing to have support within the family, you know everything thing is good when one of your Daughters tells your Granddaughters to ask Susie she has more Makeup than all the rest of us combined
Thanks for your compliments on the post Susie and I do have the pleasure of knowing you and your wife for many years. Your wife is a Gem especially for putting up with you all these years. Its also nice that your granddaughter’s know where to go for makeup advice.
We can be so helpful when asked.
Best,
MIcki
