My previous post CROSSDRESSER COMFORT touched on San Francisco which brought up some of the wonderful memories I have of Crossdressing there. It is where I accomplished a lot of firsts and built my confidence being out in public dressed completely in women’s clothes day and night. Crossdressing in San Francisco was a great experience pre-COVID, and I have not been back since but it’s on my radar again. The mayor is addressing most of the city’s crime and safety issues and business are returning. The picture below was taken at Jardinière a wonderful restaurant by the opera house and symphony which, sadly is no longer there

One of the biggest things that I look forward to crossdressing in San Francisco is shopping at Macy’s on Union Square where many memories were made. It was the first time a sales associate ever asked if I wanted to try on the clothes I was holding in my hand. Then, when I said yes escorted me to the fitting rooms and got me setup in one saying she would be back to check on me in a few minutes. She volunteered to go and get me smaller or larger sizes if I needed them and offered suggestions on things similar to what I was trying on. The same thing was true of every department we went to especially the MAC and Luara Mercier makeup artists that were great fun. They graciously volunteered to do are makeup for the evening based on what we were going to wear that night. It was a much fun for them as it was for us along with the crowd of women customers that typically gathered to watch.

Over time as I became more confident crossdressing in San Francisco, I was feeling a bit daring one night and though it would be fun to shake things up a bit. I decided it was time for my BFF Ashley and I to invade what I felt was a very mainstream restaurant that catered to businesspeople. Morton’s Steakhouse is a staple in most cities for business folks and pretty conservative from my experience. As in coat and tie for men along with dresses and heels or ladies’ suits and see how we were accepted. Crossdressing in San Francisco was considered fairly safe in those days it still mattered where you went so we avoided tourist places.
This was before they had the bar upstairs, so you entered from the street and immediately descended the staircase to the hostess station below. The first people we saw were a manager and two hostesses with the manager showing his beaming smile greeted us with “welcome ladies”, so we were off to a great start. He removed our coats as I gave him our reservation name, so we took our crossdressing in San Francisco to a new level.
The hostess took us to an awesome booth in the middle of the east wall where we could see everyone and be seen by them also. Not long after we sat down a couple on the main floor directly in front of us asked to another table possibly because of us. I don’t know but things were different in those days so maybe they had an issue. If so, they had to hate the rest of the night because we got a lot of attention. Their server along with every other one working that night spent considerable time at our table visiting with us.

It turned out that one of the servers asked if we were the ones having lunch at the Grand Cafe earlier that day. We told him that we had and asked how he knew that? He explained that his partner had waited on us there and told him all about us which, had to be good because he made us feel welcome. Throughout the night servers from all over the restaurant kept coming by to visit with us and EVERYBODY noticed our celebrity status. I couldn’t help thinking about the couple who moved and if it was because of us in which case they had to be pissed. Maybe their service was negatively impacted by their server spending time with us chuckle, chuckle!
It would not be the last time we dined at this restaurant and many other all of which I am happy to report treated us royally. But the again we had sort of a princess quality about us!

How nice! Very encouraging Love Michelle PopkovVC 517On Aug 20, 2026,
