Speaking strictly of crossdressing as an activity and not the overall trans umbrella concept this holiday weekend got me thinking about traveling. I think most of us crossdressers obviously enjoy the activity and think of it as fun. Anticipation is a big part of that fun for me so a crossdressing plan helps the process. I know many crossdressers that prefer a spontaneous approach which is also fun if you are just going out from home because you can change you outfit 10 times before going out the door. If traveling is going to be part of your adventure a crossdressing plan will make things go much more smoothly.

Cost and comfort are the biggest part of traveling smartly regardless of your motivation to travel. Long before you start thinking about what to wear your thoughts should on the travel itself. If you are going to an event like Keystone your crossdrerssing plan is constrained by the location and the date of the event. The room rate for the hotel is probably the best you will get but don’t assume that. You may do better at the same hotel or the one across the street. Hotel rates and airfares fluctuate but the earlier you start searching and checking back periodically the lower price you are likely to get.
MY CROSSDRESSING PLAN
I rarely attend the big CD events so can pick what ever dates and places that I want but always have a crossdressing plan. Last spring I joined my BFF Ashley in Las Vegas for a concert at Planet Hollywood so was locked in by the date of the performance. I chose to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel across the street which is very pricey especially on weekends. For example today 11/30/24 I checked for next month the 2nd weekend of December arriving Thursday and departing on Sunday. The rates include the $55.00 per night resort fee.
Thursday $319.00 Friday $616.00 Saturday $692.00 but this is only 2 weeks away from today which makes a big difference on the price. Ain’t no way I am going to shell out that kind of money for a hotel regardless of how nice it is. The prices were even about 15% lower when I was looking last spring but I got a better deal. Then I paid $175.00 total for 4 days and my round trip airfare was $24.00 which was a great crossdressing plan. I did it with credit cards that have loyalty programs for air miles and room nights like Alaska Airlines and Marriott.
If you have the need to travel by air and stay in hotels but don’t use credit cards aligned with travel companies you are missing an opportunity. Every dollar spent on those cards earns miles or points and regardless of how long it takes you to accumulate them its worth it. My plane ticket and hotel room were free and the money I paid was for taxes and fees.

Hotels like the Cosmopolitan might not be on your radar for a lot of reasons besides price but there are other crossdressing plan options. Marriott has other brands worldwide they work with where you can use your points. In Las Vegas for instance they have agreements with these other brands.
Cosmopolitan, Vdara, Aria, Bellagio, Park MGM, MGM Grand, Marriott’s Grand Chateau, The Signature At MGM Grand, New York New York, MGM Grand, Town Place Suites, Excalibur Hotel, Luxor Hotel, Residence Inn, Mandalay Bay, Renaissance Las Vegas, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn, and Spring Hill Suites. There is pretty much something for every price point and the farther away from the strip that you go the lower the cost.
SAMPLE BELOW IS FOR THE MGM GRAND HOTEL USING DATES A COUPLE OF MONTHS OUT. NOTE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THURSDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS. WEEK NIGHTS ARE ALWAYS LOT’S CHEAPER ESPECIALLY IN LAS VEGAS.

You can use any hotel loyalty program for a crossdressing plan credit card but be wary of the deals offered. Some deals require you pay full price up front and are not refundable.

Hi Micki!
I recently stayed at the Linq Hotel in Vegas and some weeknights were less than $20. It lacked the glam of the other places, but was an easy walk to other spots. Don’t forget too that many hotels chains and airlines have their own loyalty programs, independent of credit cards where, you can accumulate points.

Thanks Norah.
That’s the point I was trying o make in the post. I have United, American, Southwest, and Alaska Airline cards and a Marriott Bonvoy card. In fact I screwed up recently and made a hotel reservation but forgot to make the air arrangements until 4 days prior to my departure. Looking at BIG BUCKS for my plane ticket like over $800.00 I used Southwest miles and did it for $44.00.
