Christmas and New Years are getting close and many of us are planning our outfits for the parties just a few weeks away. I am all set for our club Christmas party but still vacillating on what to wear on the Friday B4. I will be doing a literal dress rehearsal this weekend for the dress I will wear for the party so I will also do the same for the Friday night dress, or suit, or jacket skirt combo whichever I decide. I am very much looking forward to being overdressed both nights, but you already knew that.
I will be trying cream foundation and contour products for both nights after changing to powder a few years ago. One of my favorite makeup artists Wayne Goss got me thinking about it again so if it turns out like it does on his YouTube channel, I will be very happy. I understand the concept it’s just don’t know if I can duplicate it on me. I’ll let you know after the Christmas party. I will still have the powder products with me in case I get in trouble.
I am still thinking about the DIVA Las Vegas event I attended last month both from my own fond memories and those I am seeing from others. As a coordinator of a couple activities for DIVA I have access to the pictures that are currently being submitted by attendees and coordinators of the event. Lots of beautiful ladies with great smiles at various activities. One of those ladies is Trish who wrote a guest post on Kandi’s Land today so the next part of this is for her.
Sorry I did not know about your injury before DIVA, or I would have shared this with you earlier. Years ago, I discovered roll up ballet flats for emergency’s when out and about in heels.

You can define an emergency as something like breaking a heel or the dread you feel thinking about walking from one place to another in Las Vegas. I swear it seems like I have walked through three zip codes just going from my room through the casino to the restaurant. It is a killer in 3 1/2-inch heels wherever you are, but the Venetian / Palazzo resort is the worst in the Canal Shops area. They have a coble stone type tile that wants to turn your ankle due to the unevenness of the tile and the hard tile hurts your feet anyway.
By Thursday night of DIVA Las Vegas 2023 after a conversation with my feet where they did the talking and I listened. I broke out my ballet flats for the walk down the hall from my room, through shops at Harah’s, across the concourse to the LINQ, through their casino, to the promenade, then finally down the promenade to Virgil’s BBQ where the final night’s dinner was. I put the flats on in my room and my heels in my purse. Once I was ready to leave the LINQ casino and enter the promenade, I found a quiet area on the side and switched to heels for the trip to Virgil’s. I encountered numerous people along the way and the men did not notice me or say anything, but the women said, “Smart Bitch” OK they did not say that, but I know they were thinking it.
So, when you are going to Las Vegas or anywhere your feet might hate you plan ahead and choose a purse that can accommodate your flats, then your heels if need be.
Here is a link to Trish’s post on Kandi’s Land and while you are there, I recommend a post from Amanda J. with thoughts about passing. Amanda is from the U.K. and gives a very well thought out perspective on the subject. It is a bit long but well worth the time you will invest reading it.

Poor Trish was limping pretty badly during the Diva ‘limo tour’, but she still looked FABULOUS as always! I am definitely getting some of those rollup ballet shoes!!!
